ALERT--Police impersonators attempting to enter homes

Lisa Rantala will have more on this report on News 11 at 5 and 6.

SOUTH TOLEDO (WTOL) - Toledo Police say two people impersonating police officers are following people home and actually getting into their victims' houses.

That happened to a woman yesterday after she left the Kroger's at Byrne and Glendale. A couple followed her home in a Jeep Wrangler and, when she arrived, told her they were looking for a suspect who had shot and killed a police officer.

She let the woman in her home while the man stayed in the Jeep. The impersonator asked if she had guns and money. The woman's instincts kicked in and she ran past the impersonator and out of her house to get help. At that point, the impersonator drove off.

The impersonators are described as being Black. The woman is thought to be in her thirties, about 5 ft. 4 in. tall and about 130 lbs. A Black man was driving the Jeep.
