Taxing porn to balance budget; Condom art

Pornography Tax

NY Governor David Paterson is proposing an "online sin tax." He wants residents to pay more for music and software downloads. New York leaders say it would also apply to pornography downloads and skin flicks on pay-per-view TV.

Some conservatives claim a tax on pornography would officially recognize x-rated materials and send the wrong message to teenagers.

Is the "online sin tax" a good way for state governments to make some extra cash? Do you think a tax would decrease downloads, or is Governor Paterson's proposal a bad idea?

Condom Art

There's nothing more appropriate than a heart for valentine's day. But some residents in Texas aren't exactly feeling the love for a latex version of a heart. Over the weekend, two hearts made entirely of condoms were on display at two north Texas malls.  The display encourages people to practice, quote "safe love."

So, should the malls allow the display? Is a condom heart inappropriate when kids are walking right by the store? Is the ad a good way to encourage AIDS awareness?
