TOLEDO (WTOL) - Former Toledo Fire Chief Mike Bell confirms he is considering a run for the mayor's office.
Our media partner the Toledo Blade reports that Bell is quote "exploring the possibility" of running for mayor.
Bell is currently the state fire marshall. He took that job after stepping down as Toledo's fire chief. He is based in Columbus but still maintains a home in Toledo.
Bell is a registered democrat and spent 27 years working for the City of Toledo as a firefighter. He was named chief in 1990.
Bell says he's looking at the need for a regional approach to the area.
So far, two people have officially declared themselves candidates for Toledo mayor: Democrat Keith Wilkowski, and Republican Jim Moody.
