Local charities and food and clothing centers are in tough shape. It's a fact, the needs exceed the supply. And the need is growing.
If you are unable to make a contribution of money this year, take some time and go through your closet, your toys and the food pantry. If you have some clothes you no longer wear that are in good condition, why not give them to someone in need? If you have some toys that are slightly used, then help make it a brighter Christmas for a child.
When you are grocery shopping, pick up some extra, inexpensive packaged or canned goods and take them to a food center. Every little bit helps.
We are in for a tough economic run. It will take a while for things to improve. In the meantime, be as generous as possible with the items you can afford to spare. I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday season.
