SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP (WTOL) - A local charity is seeing donations increase despite the bad economy.
Thinking of doing some home remodeling during tough economic times? The Habitat for Humanity re-store at 8201 W. Central Ave. is the place to shop.
You'll find home fixtures, appliances, furniture -- even mattresses.
"Everything at the ReStore is donated. Money raised goes directly to Habitat For Humanity and it's efforts to build decent, affordable housing," says Rick Wisniewski with Habitat for Humanity.
Most of the stuff there on the day we visited was just removed from a hotel undergoing renovation. A $100 sink goes for half price.
Lorrie Eckman looks for a deal on bi-fold doors. She's a regular at the other Habitat Restore in south Toledo located at 223 Fearing Blvd. "The price is good and it gives back to the community and help build and restore houses," she says.
The Habitat Restore on W. Central is only open Wednesday through Saturday.
