Finkbeiner tries to rescue American automakers

TOLEDO (WTOL) - Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner plans to get in touch with Toledo native and Cerberus chairman John Snow about the future of the auto industry.

Cerberus owns Chrysler. Finkbeiner says he will ask Snow to talk to Washington lawmakers about how a bailout would help the Chrysler plants here in Toledo. The mayor spent Tuesday in Washington and says he thinks the $15 billion bridge loan will happen.

Finkbeiner says financial assistance for the Big 3 is crucial to the stability of the U.S. economy.
