Local farmers meet to discuss impact of factory farms

BOWLING GREEN - The impact of mega farms is being felt throughout the country, including right here in northwest Ohio.

The "Wood County Citizens Opposed to Factory Farms" is getting some help from the Pew Commission, which has researched farms nationwide. They met Wednesday evening at the Bowling Green Community Center to discuss the situation.

Some people would like to see changes.

"We're hopeful that we can at least make them comply with something so that they're not over-applying the manure," said Vicki Askins, with WCCOFF.

The Pew Commission is having meetings in Ohio all week.
