TOLEDO (WTOL) - Heading out on black Friday? You'll certainly find a deal.

"We do have some great 50% off book titles for Friday," says Theresa Dunlop from Borders Books.

We went to Westfield Franklin Park mall to see how retailers are preparing. "Anything that we've been selling as 3-for-$12 we're selling as 5-for $15," one retailer says.

They're hoping stellar sales lure you in.

Scott Ralston manages the Johnny Almond kiosk. "People are looking for value, and so that's what we're going to provide them along with great customer service, in hopes that it will get us through."

Back at Borders, Dunlop hopes a special Friday book-signing with Glenn Beck seals the deal on sales. They're expecting anywhere from 700-1,000 people just on Friday.

Around the corner, Aeropostale isn't waiting for the Black Friday rush. They've already marked their entire store 50%, and they're opening at 4 a.m. Friday morning for an added boost.

The Johnny Almond booth across from them will also open at 4 a.m. "I can't afford to pay somebody to be here, not knowing if they're gonna buy anything. So I just have to take it out of my own time," says Ralston.

For three new stores at the mall, this weekend is critical.

Ulta is a product-and-cosmetic superstore with over 300 stores in 26 states. It's newest venture is right here in Toledo. Their general manager says a lot of people don't know they're open yet. "We don't know what to expect. Its so exciting because exactly two weeks ago from Black Friday was our Grand Opening. So two weeks we've been open, and we have no idea how Black Friday is gonna hit us," says Erin Haney, Ulta General Manager.

This Black Friday may be summed up in two words: cautious optimism.
