Suspected 'Granny bank robber' free on bond

FRANKLIN, Ohio (AP) - A judge has ordered a 68-year-old Middletown woman charged with bank robbery to wear a monitoring device while out of jail on bond.

Police are trying to determine if former bank teller Barbara Joly is the so-called "Granny Robber" sought in four bank robberies in Warren County in southwest Ohio.

Police say Joly fit the description of a woman who robbed a Huntington Bank branch in Franklin on Friday. She was arrested shortly after a woman handed a teller a note and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say Joly had sunglasses and a scarf, items worn by an older female robber suspected in the bank holdups.

Joly's attorney says she is confused and he plans to have a psychiatrist examine her.
