1/2 lb. Butter, softened (2 sticks) 1/4 C. Sugar 1 C. Carmel topping or sauce 4 Eggs 3 C. Flour 2 tsp. Baking Powder 1 tsp. Salt
1 C. Caramel (thicker than sauce)
-- caramel candies melted with a little water --apple slices or apple topping
Cream the butter and sugar. Add the caramel sauce until well-blended. Add the eggs, mix completely. Add the dry ingredients. Pour batter into a buttered and flavored 9x4'' round cake pan. Cut in the caramel and apples. Bake in a 325 degrees oven until toothpick inserted inserted in center shows crumb is just still slightly moist. Let cake sit 10-minutes and then turn out onto serving platter. Pour additional caramel sauce over warm cake-- add whipped cream or ice cream.
