Mich. high school student faces explosives charges

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Police say a Saline High School student built bombs and made threats against other students.

Ryan Grossman was arraigned Saturday on three felony charges of possessing explosives. The 17-year-old from Washtenaw County's Saline Township, about 45 miles west-southwest of  Detroit, didn't have a lawyer yet.

The Ann Arbor News reports authorities say Grossman made threats against other students and told a student Thursday that a third student was on a hit list. State police searched  Grossman's home and said they found explosives.

The newspaper says Grossman told police that he didn't make any threats. He has been suspended from school.

A preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 6.
