TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Gov. Sarah Palin spoke to groups at Xunlight Corp. in Toledo and Bowling Green State University on Wednesday. News 11 was on hand at both events and streamed both live on WTOL.com.

She's promising a "clean break" from Bush administration energy policies if the Republican ticket wins.

The Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential nominee says the U.S. is too dependent on foreign oil.

In an address in Ohio, she cast energy independence as a national security issue, especially as it involves the Middle East. Palin says foreign-oil dependence forces the U.S. to end up paying money to the sponsors of terror.

She made a passing reference to solar power, but renewed her call for more drilling in U.S. coastal waters. Palin also spoke up for the development of clean coal technology and nuclear power.
