SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Actor Matt Damon says he's honored that he got a shout-out last week from Ohio's Joe the Plumber.
Samuel "Joe" Wurzelbacher of the Toledo area became an overnight media sensation after he was referred to constantly in the final presidential debate.
During interviews in his driveway the following day, Republican Wurzelbacher downplayed whether his doubts about Barack Obama's tax plan could influence other voters. He said: "It's not like I'm Matt Damon."
Damon is a hardcore Democrat who has spent as much time campaigning for Obama recently than he has acting. In San Francisco yesterday, the actor said he was "honored" to be an extra in what he referred to as the plumber's "little passion play."
