At midnight on Feb. 17, 2009, the television analog signal will be turned off. If you receive your current signal from a cable or from a satellite dish, you don't have to do anything.

However, if you plan on getting your signal from an antenna, you need to be purchase the correct antenna. That means you must purchase a combination WHF/UHF antenna.

After Feb. 17, WTOL and WTVG will broadcast on a VHF digital signal. The other stations will broadcast on a UHF digital signal. So your antenna must be able to receive both VHF and UHF digital signals.

Go to WTOL.com and click on the icon for The Big Switch. Select "antenna consumers guide" and follow the advice.

Remember, in this market, you will need a combination VHF/UHF digital antenna to receive all of the stations.
