SAN DIEGO (AP) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will campaign for John McCain in Ohio, 1 of the hotly contested states leading to the Nov. 4 election.
But the governor isn't exactly pulling out all the stops for the Republican presidential nominee. He'll appear at just one event, in Columbus, on Halloween.
Schwarzenegger endorsed McCain before California's presidential primary in February but has been conspicuously absent from the campaign trail. A record-length state budget impasse kept Schwarzenegger in Sacramento all summer.
This month, he's campaigning on behalf of a redistricting initiative on the California ballot.
Schwarzenegger said Monday that Columbus is his traditional stumping ground the weekend before presidential elections. He appeared there for President Bush in 2004 and for Bush's father in 1988 and 1992.
