MAUMEE (WTOL) - After being closed for one year, the Maumee Authority stamping plant's first day of operation is Wednesday, Oct. 15, when management will do a walk-through to make sure all is in working order.

The new president and CEO of Maumee Authority Stamping Inc. is Keith Obey.

On Thursday, employees -- all 50 of them -- will be in the plant making structural components for cars. By this time next year, it is expected 250 employees will be on the job. By the end of two years, that number is expected to climb to 550.

Plans are in the works for the plant to get into nonautomotive businesses at some point.
