Crash scatters pumpkins, closing roads near Toledo

GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio (AP) - A crash between a sheriff's cruiser and two wagons hauling pumpkins created quite a mess just outside Toledo.

The accident scattered so many pumpkins that authorities had to close a Wood County intersection for about three hours Tuesday night. The State Highway Patrol says the cruiser driven by Wood County Deputy Isaiah Loar hit the back of one the wagons, causing both to spill.

Troopers say Loar had to be treated for minor injuries at a hospital in Bowling Green. The driver of the tractor pulling the pumpkin wagon wasn't injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
