TOLEDO (WTOL) - As if getting around in a wheelchair isn't tough enough, Sheila Wilson has to figure out how to get off and on a city bus at Southwyck Blvd.

"There is no ramp. How am I supposed to cross this parking lot?" she queries News 11's Mika Highsmith.

Wilson encounters this sort of challenge a lot, and she adapts by taking alternate routes that often lead into the street.

That's obviously not the safest option for her; it's more like an obstacle course.

Mika contacted a representative from the city who says it would be way to0 expensive to redo all sidewalks at one time. She says that as sidewalks are replaced, they are made handicapped accessible.
