TOLEDO (WTOL) - Imagine not being able to get out of the bed to do anything. You can't bathe. Can't even get anything to eat. It's a life most of us couldn't bear, yet a north Toledo woman is living it.
Mollie Kirtz's wheelchair is broken, and she's done everything she can think of to get a new one. Now she's turning to Call 11 for Action problem solver Mika Highsmith for help.
Her wheelchair is a mess. An armrest is missing and, from the cushion to the wheels, the chair is worn out. So Kirtz has been confined to her bed.
She says she's tried to use her insurance to get the wheelchair fixed or buy a new one but. But, "They don't answer no calls," she said.
Mika called Kirtz's doctor and because of HIPPA laws, he couldn't give out any information.
