Blood drive to benefit Extreme Makeover Toledo family

‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' Buckeye Real Estate Group to host blood drive Friday, September 12 The American Red Cross is teaming up with Buckeye Real Estate Group to host a blood drive in honor of the family chosen to receive a new home for the television show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

Buckeye Real Estate Group has been chosen to build the new home for the family.

The blood drive will be held Friday, September 12, from 1 to 7 p.m., at Calvary Bible Chapel, 3740 West Alexis Road.

During the blood drive, monetary donations will be accepted on behalf of the family.

"We feel honored to be given the opportunity to be a part of something so amazing," said Bonnie Meridieth, director of donor recruitment for the American Red Cross. "The blood drive is being held in honor of the family, and our hope is that people in the community will come out to support them and the Red Cross by donating blood."

Those who donate blood through September 28, can enter to win a 105th anniversary edition of the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom, from Napoleon Harley-Davidson.

A total of 105 lucky finalists will be randomly selected and invited to Napoleon Harley-Davidson for the sweepstakes drawing on October 4.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and in good general health. All donors need to present positive identification.
