TPS teachers recognized for meeting goals

TOLEDO  (WTOL)  - Teachers at nearly two dozen Toledo Public Schools are being recognized on Monday for meeting certain goals.

Twenty-three schools achieved at least two out of three academic goals last year, including increased performance, improved attendance and better math performance.

Leaders at Leverette Middle School say they were not surprised by the good performance and  that they want their school's performance to continue to improve.

"This year we expect even bigger things," said Leverette Principal Steve Riddle.

Eligible teachers were given awards of $1,000 or $2,000, depending on how their schools did.
