WTOL Editorial: 2 great hotels add to NW Ohio's panache

In the last month or so, close to $40 million of private money has been invested in two Northwest Ohio Hotels.

The Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons and the Crowne Plaza Toledo now offer first class accommodations. It's great to be able to impress visitors with such exceptional facilities.

The facade of Crowne Plaza Toledo is attractive and modern, with marble floors and a cool new lobby. The entire facility has been renovated -- from carpets, to ceilings, walls, meeting rooms, and all of the guest rooms. It is a thoroughly modern hotel that is comparable to the top tier hotels in other major cities. There's even a new martini bar.

In Levis Commons, the brand new Hilton Garden Inn offers 184 terrific rooms and 18,000 sq. ft. of modern meeting space. The ballroom is 10,000 sq. ft. The hotel sparkles and features all of the accommodations you would expect in a first class hotel. Demand for rooms and for the ballroom has been exceptional and well ahead of projections.

These hotels are significant. Northwest Ohio needed them. Now we have them. And best of all, taxpayers didn't have to pony up to make it happen.
