TOLEDO (WTOL) - In the last seven days, someone smashed the windows out of a half dozen businesses in Toledo and even more just north of the Michigan border.

Since Aug. 26, a beauty shop on Tremainsville, a shop on Laskey, a retail store on Secor and three businesses on West Alexis have all had their windows broken but little money taken from the inside.

The latest happened at Vito's Pizza on Douglas Rd.

Police think only one man is responsible.

There has been at least one witness, police say.

"I stepped in. I was sitting by the window. I thought I saw someone skirt around the corner of Vito's," said Matt Kizaur, who lives near the pizzeria.

Police believe the suspect is a white man with a slim build, dark hair who lives in the area and gets away on a bike to avoid detection.

Kizaur says he'll keep looking for anything else suspicious since police say this smash and grabber could hit even more stores until he's caught.

"He seemed out of place and we've seen other people who seem to be out of place in the neighborhood and that's something we're more watchful about," Kizaur said.
