Toledo Express loses 2 airlines

TOLEDO (WTOL) - It's bon voyage for two major airlines at Toledo Express Airport. The last Delta flight left at 6:45 Tuesday morning.

Continental Airlines will head out for the last time at 5:35 Tuesday afternoon.

These changes mean a loss of about 20 local jobs and also fewer choices for passengers, which could lead to higher ticket prices and a major drop in airport traffic.

"That's kind of a shock," said passenger Chris Hood. "There's not a whole lot of them here to begin with and with these two gone, I don't know what that holds for the future of this airport, but uh, not good."

The director of the airport says the changes are a result of the higher cost of fuel.
