FINDLAY, Ohio (AP) - Eight nurses at a northwest Ohio nursing home have been fired for failing to stop a patient from harming herself.
Ohio's health department also has issued three citations against the Blanchard Valley Health System nursing home in Findlay.
Officials say the patient had a condition in which she involuntarily clenched her fingernails into her palm. She needed medical care for her injuries.
Blanchard chief executive Scott Malaney says the nurses were fired in July for inadequate care.
