2 robberies at carryout stores -- and police have video

SOUTH TOLEDO (WTOL) - Police are investigating two robberies that happened less than a mile apart at carryout stores on 250 South Fearing and 1409 Western in south toledo.

Both stores had surveillance cameras, a big help to police, they say.

"Two came behind counter, one in front. Two pulled a gun -- one girl one man," said Stop and Go manager Ali Kassem about what happened at his store on Friday night.

On Saturday night, the corner store on Fearing was hit in nearly the same manner -- this time by two men.

In both instances, the suspects scaled the counter with guns, ordered workers to the ground and fled down a nearby alley with money from the cash register.

Police are reviewing the surveillance tapes. They're pleased that one suspect may have left behind a clue.

Kassem hopes that clue is enough to solve this crime -- and to help prevent crimes in the future.
