OREGON, OH (WTOL) - A nearly 4-hour long stand-off has come to an end in Oregon. It happened in the 3300 of Yorkshire, just off of Coy Road.

Oregon Police say it started when the suspect was going to be arrested for OVI. They say he became suicidal and barricaded himself in a townhouse with a handgun.

Police evacuated people living nearby.

The swat team was called out, and they eventually fired tear gas into the area and were able to get the man out.

"It was a townhouse, and we did have to evacuate a couple from one of the townhouses," says Oregon Police Department Sgt. Tony Castillo.

The suspect was taken to Saint Charles Hospital to be evaluated and he could be facing a number of charges.
