TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Meshawn Graham is setting some lofty goals both on and off the athletic field.
Meshawn Graham's life is on track. Next week, the Bowsher High School grad begins her college life at the University of Michigan. She's taking plenty of high school awards with her. That includes 2008 Ohio State champ in the 400.
"I expect a lot of great things just within the first year, so my expectations for myself don't deteriorate at all, they only get bigger," says Graham.
Meshawn has already competed in national and international competitions. Her ultimate goal is to run in the 2012 Olympics in London.
"You'll definitely see me at least at trials, if not the Olympics. I'm going for the Olympics of course, but you'll see me at the trials in 2012."
Athletics are only half of the equation for Meshawn, who's planning to attend law school after earning her undergrad degree.
That means hitting the books as hard as the track.
"You just have a lot of different areas that have to hit. I have to make sure I go 100% in everything, academically and athletically"
Helping her along the way will be support from her family.
