Mark Engel's mailbox has been empty for the last few weeks. Frankly, the postal carriers just ignore it, he says.
"I can sit in my living room and watch the mail lady drive by our mailbox," Engel said.
Engel is clear on why it's happening. He says it started when the post office made him move his mailbox from the back of his home to the front.
"I told the mail lady I didn't want to move it twice because it's cemented in the ground," Engel said. So he put it further back from the street in preparation for the widening of Hill St., something for which he had permission, he said.
"Shirley was the manager I spoke to. She said it was OK to put it there."
