McCain is supposed to arrive at Fermi II Tuesday afternoon. He has proposed nuclear energy as part of his national energy plan. The plan includes building 45 new plants by 2030 if he is elected. Ultimately, he has proposed to build 100 plants
Protestors are waiting at the Frenchtown Township, MI plant near Monroe. Some have said nuclear power is a diversion from the real issues. One man told News 11 the answer to reduce dependency on foreign oil is to invest in our auto industry, so those companies can retool their product.
