CAUGHT ON TAPE--Cries for help during BG bank robbery

BOWLING GREEN -- A 9-1-1 operator heard some terrifying cries for help during a bank robbery on Thursday at the Fifth Third branch on North Main St. in Bowling Green.

Police say 37-year-old William Brown, Jr., told tellers he had a gun and then locked one worker in the bank vault and tried to take another employee with him.

He eventually took off by himself after stealing a worker's car, police say. The pursuit ended when Brown crashed the car on SR 582 and Hull Prairie Rd.

Brown was arrested and booked at the Wood County Justice Center on aggravated robbery and kidnapping charges.
