Wozniak announces new Lucas Co. Sustainability Commission

From a news release:

The Lucas County Sustainability Commission will work to identify policies that, reduce the county's own energy use, educate the government and the public on sustainable alternatives, and work to promote the creation of green collar jobs.

The Sustainability Commission will have representation from the Lucas County Engineer, the Sanitary Engineer, the Toledo-Lucas County Plan Commission, the LCIC, Solid Waste Management District, Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful, and the MetroParks.  These members will be joined by representatives from the UT Urban Affairs Center, the Lake Erie Western Alliance for Sustainability (LEWAS), and the Olander Park System.

The commission will be staffed by Lucas Soil and Water.  Contributions to Lucas Soil and Water are matched one-for-one by the state, allowing the commission to leverage additional funding for staffing and programs.
