TOLEDO (WTOL) -- Somebody's July 4th fun leaves dozens of families with no place to live. Over one hundred people are homeless after fire ripped through their apartment complex.

A major fire broke out around 1:30 am, Saturday morning, at the Hunter's Ridge Apartments, on Gibralter Heights in south Toledo.

Fire and rescue crews from all Toledo fire stations responded. In all, flames destroyed eight buildings. But, the amazing part of this story is not a single injury was reported.

Investigators believe somebody was shooting off fireworks, and that's what started the fire.

Many residents not only lost everything in their apartments, but some also lost their cars in the blaze.

Damage is estimated at five million dollars, but that number is expected to rise.
