A look at the Sunday papers

Let's give you a preview of what you'll see in your favorite newspapers this morning.

We'll check them out on their online versions, starting with The Blade.

Their headline reads "Pair battle for control of local GOP." The Blade details the race for Republican Party Chairman between Bob Reichert, on the right, and his challenger, Jon Stainbrook, on the left. The paper reports Stainbrook says Reichert is quote "asleep at the wheel." Stainbrook lost elections for Toledo City Council in 1991, 1993, and 1997. The Republican Party's Central Committee will elect a chairman on Saturday morning.

Now to Cleveland's The Plain Dealer: "Continental's future intertwined with Hopkins." The paper writes about how Continental Airlines accounts for two-thirds of the traffic at Hopkins Airport. It also previews next week's release of details by Continental, about potential job and flight cuts.

In The Detroit Free Press: "Chorus of boos mutes Kilpatrick." At the Red Wings parade yesterday to celebrate winning the Stanley Cup, Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was booed loudly when he went up to praise the team. The paper says the booing was so loud, it was difficult to hear him during his 45 second speech.
