LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Comedian Harvey Korman may be best remembered for his work on TV's "The Carol Burnett Show" and the big screen's "Blazing Saddles."

A spokeswoman for Burnett says she's "devastated" by Korman's death because she loved her former sidekick very much.

A statement from Korman's family says he died at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering complications from the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago.

Burnett and Korman developed into the perfect pair with their spoofs of classic movies such as "Gone With the Wind" and of soap operas like the bit they called "As the Stomach Turns".

Another recurring skit featured them as "Ed and Eunice," a staid married couple who were constantly at odds with the wife's mother -- a young Vickie Lawrence in a gray wig.

Korman was 81.
