Toledo rated un-healthy heart city for women

The American Heart Association (AHA) says Toledo is one of the worst cities in the country for women's heart health.

A movement called Go Red for Women by AHA puts the list together so women can find heart-healthy places to live.

The study ranked cities by size, and Toledo came in on the "worst list" as number 5 in the mid-size metro area category. That means we're the fifth worst city for women's heart health compared to other cities our size in the country. Things taken into account include smoking, obesity and regular exercise among women.

Here are the best and worst mid-sized cities for women's heart health:

Mid-Sized Top Five Heart Friendly Cities

  1. Salt Lake City, UT
  2. Honolulu, HI

  4. Rochester, NY
  5. Albuquerque, NM

Mid-sized Least Heart Friendly Cities

  2. Lakeland, Florida
  3. Tulsa, Oklahoma
