WOOD COUNTY, Ohio -- One local sheriff is urging parents to warn their children about not letting their guard down when they head outside this Spring.
Last Friday, April 4, the Wood County Sheriff's Department received a report of two boys in a quiet subdivision being approached by a man driving a purple Mazda.
While the boys weren't harmed, the sheriff says it's a reminder that predators can strike anytime, anywhere.
Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn told News 11, "That's why it's so important for all parents to sit down with their children and talk with them about never getting into a car with a stranger, what to do, run away, who to call."
The sheriff says with more children playing outside, it's giving more opportunity for predators on the prowl.
