Toledo man arrested for impersonating cop, rape in Northwood

TOLEDO, NORTHWOOD, Ohio -- William Dunbar, 37, has been arrested for a March 24 rape in Northwood, Ohio.

A 31-year old woman reported from Toledo hospital that she was approached by a man who presented himself as a police officer. She reported the male suspect took her to a location in Northwood and raped her.

The victim claims Dunbar was driving a Dodge Charger, a vehicle similar to those driven by some local law enforcement.

The Toledo police and Toledo FBI investigated the case and came up with Dunbar as a suspect. He's been arrested and charged with one count of rape and one count of impersonating a police officer. Bond was set at $75,000.

Dunbar was arrested in his west Toledo residence.

News 11 has learned Dunbar has a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, April 2. We'll continue to follow this story.
