Ohio's uninsured children get a hand from the state

COLUMBUS, Oh --There's a new State program that's designed to help families get health coverage for kids who are uninsured because of issues like pre-existing conditions.

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland signed the order Tuesday to create what's formally called the Children's Buy-in Program. It will allow parents of about 5,000 uninsured children to purchase insurance for $250 to $500 a month.

The program is expected to cost the State around $10 million over the next 15 months.
