Oregon schools to make $1.2 million in cuts

OREGON, Ohio -- The Oregon school board is meeting Monday at 7 p.m. to discuss balancing the budget with a $1.2 million deficit.

The district's levy committee said the cuts may include laying off 24 employees including up to 13 teachers.

Last year, a school levy failed. Just this March, however, a 5.9 mill levy passed. However district officials say it just isn't enough to solve the deficit.
