Toledo Powertrain workers called back to work

All Toledo Powertrain workers laid off because of the strike at American Axle have been called back to work beginning with the first shift Tuesday, March 25.

TOLEDO -- All Toledo Powertrain workers laid off because of the strike at American Axle have been called back to work beginning with the first shift Tuesday, March 25.

A General Motors spokeswoman says transmission production is scheduled from Tuesday through Friday.

A GM truck plant in Louisiana has scheduled an assembly shift next week and needs the Toledo-produced automatic transmissions.

A strike at Detroit based American Axle has shut down about 28 GM plants across the country. That strike is now more than 3 weeks old.
