Monroe, County, Mich. -- A 17-year-old boy is behind bars after police say he admitted to setting two recent fires.
One home on Fountain Circle and another on Brentridge Lane went up in flames last week.
The Monroe County sheriff says they were investigating the 17-year-old in connection to those suspicious fires.
While staking out the teen's house, detectives say the boy actually tried to siphon gas from an undercover police car.
After a short chase, officers took the teen into custody. They say he admitted to setting the two fires as well as three other arsons dating back several years.
