TOLEDO -- At least three Dollar stores have been robbed in recent days, the latest Thursday night in the 500 block of South Reynolds, reports News 11's Jonathan Walsh.
The folks at Wise Dollar say the man who robbed them was in their store around 1 p.m. last Friday. They say he was acting a bit strange, which is why they remember him. He left and a short time later, they say he hit the Dollar General at Dorr and Reynolds.
Ramona Puckett owns the Wise Dollar store and says a co-worker had seen the man, the same one who robbed the Dollar General.
"When they showed the videotape on TV that night, my co-worker said, 'Hey, that's him, that's him,'" Puckett said.
Since Puckett wasn't in the store last Friday, she didn't recognize the man when he entered the store on Thursday. She says he walked in pretending to be interested in buying something, went to pay for it at the counter and then pointed a gun at her.
"I didn't walk, I bounced. I went behind the key machine. I didn't know if he was going to shoot or what. I was just trying to get covered," Puckett said. "I yelled, 'Take, just take it."
At the time, there was a woman painting Easter decorations on the front door and window. Fortunately he didn't shoot; he just ran outside and around the building.
He's described as a black man in his twenties about 6 ft. tall with a medium build. He has a goatee. He was wearing dark blue pants, a blue hoodie and a tan Carhart jacket with white spiral markings. He also got away in a four-door red car.
Puckett's store was also hit last month by the lunch box bandit who held up the place and got away with cash.
