Think "Outside the Box" to Find that Next Job

Using your current abilities, you may be able to take your career in an entirely different direction! Start by identifying all of your skills.

1. Work Skills: Painting, repairing, remodeling
2. Daily Living Skills: Paying bills, budgeting, planning, scheduling, cooking
3. Hobbies: woodworking, car repair, scrap booking, ceramics
4. Volunteering: children's school, church, scouts

Look for links between your skills / abilities and fields of employment that you may not have considered. Here are two examples:

Do you like to cook and have a talent for it?
Employment in the dietary field might be a possibility.

Do you like remodeling projects?
Employment as a maintenance technician might be right for you.
