OREGON, Oh. -- One man is dead after being hit by a car Thursday morning. The accident happened on Oregon Rd. one-tenth of a mile north of Ayers road in Perrysburg Township at about 7:05 a.m., police say.
Michael Calvero, 19, was driving his 1993 GMC pickup northbound on Oregon Rd. when he struck 41-year-old Arthur Fowler, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Fowler had been walking northbound.
Calvero was treated and released from St. Charles Hospital.
Authorities are still investigating. They say Fowler was wearing black and that it was just getting light at the time of the accident.
