D.C. fire leaves 200 homeless

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- An early morning fire at a Washington, DC apartment building has displaced dozens of familes.

The fire broke out about midnight at the Meridian Hill park Apartments in the 3100 block of Mount Pleasant Street, NW. The flames reportedly also spread to a nearby church. Fire units arrived from the District, as well as from Montgomery and Prince George's Counties Maryland.

There have been no reports of serious injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

As of 6:50 a.m., fire crews are still working on the fire. We will post more information as we receive it.
