TOLEDO -- Rescue crews were on the scene of a bizarre accident at Earl and East Broadway in east Toledo Monday morning.
Toledo police tell us two people were inside a dumpster trying to keep warm when a BFI driver came and dumped the load into the back of his truck. Both people were dumped into the back of the truck.
As the driver headed down East Broadway, he started to compact the load. That's when the male victim was able to jump out and signal to the driver to stop. The female victim had to be rescued from the back of the truck by fire crews.
Both victims suffered only minor injuries. Bruce Bryant of Perrysburg was not hospitalized. Diane Komives was treated and released, mostly for bumps and bruises.
