CENTRAL TOLEDO -- A Central Toledo neighborhood was on edge this week after two unrelated murders happened within 24 hours of each other. Now, a possible arson related to one of the murders shows the situation may be escalating even more.
The second murder in that neighborhood happened Monday when Christopher Ross, 17, was shot by a man firing from his home into a crowd of teenagers.
Police arrested William Braylock, 39, on Tuesday for that murder. Police told News 11 the killing came as spillover from a fight Ross had that day.
That killing took place near the corner of Delaware and Lawrence. The latest development happened early Wednesday morning when fire crews responded to a fire at the house in which Ross got into that fight.
Just after 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, fire crews were called to the house. No one was home at the time.
The fire is being called suspicious.
