Operation Evergreen needs donations

The holiday season is still weeks away, but it's the perfect time to help a local Christmas tree grower answer a call to duty.

For the fifth year in a row, the Whitehouse Christmas Tree Farm is taking part in "Operation Evergreen." They're donating 50 trees to troops serving overseas as well as decorations to send. You can even buy a tree and send it over with a special note.

"We do get responses. Thanks for thinking of us, bringing some cheer to us...supporting us." 

You can donate garland, non-breakable ornaments, tree toppers, and tree stands. The drive ends Nov. 2. Items can be dropped off at the following locations:
