Keith Scherer can't get into his Sunnybrook Meadows apartment. "It doesn't want to lock right," he said.
He turned to News 11 Call for Action Problem Solver, Mika Highsmith. She found it's not just the lock keeping him out. It's what is on the inside that's stopping him from moving in. Scherer said, "The stuff is all dirty. The carpet is dirty. The cabinets, walls...all dirty. I can't put anything in my cupboards. They're all dirty." Under the sink, it's leaking. The blinds are broken. "They'll fall on my head," Scherer said.
A laundry list of problems, most pretty minor, but a big deal to this family who can't move in until they're fixed. Scherer said, "They told us four or five times they were going to fix it, but never did yet. It's just not right. Not after you paid all that money. I want it done, so we can move in."
Highsmith talked to people involved. The good news is Keith Scherer is in the apartment now. They cleaned it up after the News 11 team left, and he's all moved in.
